As a teenager, Marni was tormented by the mean girls, especially by Joan, the head cheerleader. Years later, she returns home for her brother's wedding and discovers that he is marrying Joana. When they meet, Marni expects an apology, but Joana feigns ignorance. Her mother Gail tells her to forget it, but learns that Joanna's aunt Ramona is her old friend whom she had confrontation with years ago. When Marni learns that Joana does remember her she sets to expose her to her brother.
